Portfolio / Project Experience

The examples on this page are representative of projects I have been involved with over the years.
For a more complete listing of projects, see the bottom of this page.

LAC + USC Medical Center

Los Angeles County Replacement Hospital Facility

1.5 million square foot replacement teaching hospital, replacing the original earthquake damaged facility. Incorporates 600 beds, base isolation (1/3 of facility), rooftop helipad, subterranean central plant, site-built cooling towers, and robotic materials transportation system.

I was a member of the 50 person architectural project team (a joint venture between HOK and LBL Architects) for two years, spanning completion of design and construction documents. I was reponsible for preparation of construction documents for the 7 story Outpatient Building (1 of 2 people); quality control, drawing review, and completion of the 40,000 s.f. subterranean central plant documents; research, design and documentation of the site built cooling towers (5 towers, induced draft, counterflow) and burried propane tanks in protective safety enclosure; and sitework review, coordination and documentation.

Rancho Temecula Town Center

Temecula, CA

162,000 s.f. retail (15 buildings) on a 20 acre site in Temecula, CA.

As a principal architect with Peruzzi Architects in Los Angeles, CA, I was involved with this project from inception to completion, including architectural design, client and tenant coordination, design and construction documents for 60,000+ s.f. of the buildings (big box anchors were under separate contract), specification preparation, engineering consultant direction and coordination, quality control, and construction administration.

Legoland California Amusement Park

Carlsbad, CA

60 acre amusement park, including 8 different themed areas, multiple structures, and amusement ride integration.

I was an integral part of the HOK design team for this project for two years, spanning the entirety of construction documents and construction. Involved with design, documentation, construction administration, and coordination with client, engineering consultants, interior designers, and ride vendors. At Legoland request I relocated for one year to be part of the on-site architectural team during the entirety of construction (1 year).

During documentation I worked on the Castle themed portion of the park, miscellaneous food service buildings, semi-underground pump stations and maintenance buildings, and several shade structures.

As part of the on-site construction administration team I had involvement with all parts of the park, including extensive continuing documentation and ride integration work in the Castle, Funtown, Imagination and Beginning parts of the park. Since project completion I have been involved with two expansions of the park, including the Pirate themed water play/ride area.
